Whenever I mention Yoga and positive energy, someone will say or think, "Easy for you to say." This is usually followed by, "My life has been tough." Sorry to say, many people have struggled in life, and I did not come from a wealthy family.
Many people on this earth struggle against disease, hunger, and poverty. Even in the United States, there is obvious poverty. All I have to do is look out my office window, and I can see at least one homeless person.
Everyday, I talk to a few of them on my way to and from our wellness center. In fact, many local businesses, including mine, support local soup kitchens. Our local community does have groups, which take action, but the problem has only gotten worse. Many manufacturing jobs have left New England. The homeless do not seem to be counted as unemployed.
In fact, some political statisticians count a person, working three minimum wage jobs, as three working people. No wonder we have such a great unemployment rate. No one dares whisper the word recession.
Life is a picture we paint with our eyes. Some people cannot help but think the worst. It may have been ideas of deserved poverty, their environment, or circumstances beyond their control, but they gave up on opportunity.
If one of us wants to make a change, we can start today, but the old programming must be tossed aside. Nobody, anywhere on this earth, deserves to suffer from disease, hunger, and poverty. Never think that you deserve less, because somebody told you so. Look at life on the bright side and look for ethical opportunities everyday.
