Low Cost Fitness Ideas That Can Get You Into Shape Starting Today

With all the hype these days about fitness being a billion dollar industry, it's enough to make you think that it could be too expensive to get into shape.  That couldn't be further from the truth.  There are ways to get into fantastic shape at either no cost or very low cost and you can start today.  Here are some great ideas.

While you are at work you can do things for your personal fitness and well being.  Start taking a lunch and pack it with healthy foods like fruits and vegetables.  Avoid that expensive, artery clogging fast food.

Whenever you can take walks at work.  Walk during your breaks, walk during lunch, park at the far end of the employee lot so the walk to your office is as long as possible, walk up and down stairs and avoid elevators.

Walking is one of the best forms of exercise.  Walk whenever you can-walk when you are not at work, walk your dog, fill a back pack with books and lug the pack around as you walk for a more aggressive workout.

At your desk at work there are exercises you can do sitting that will expend energy.  If you have the option of using a headset for you phone do it.  That way you can walk while you talk.

Ride your bike to work instead of driving is possible as often you can.

Riding a bicycle anytime is a great activity for fitness.  If you have a bike pull it out of the corner, wipe off the cobwebs and get riding.  It is a fun way to exercise your heart and help you burn calories.  There are lots of trails to explore -so get going.

You can be creative around the house for exercise.  Use your stairs for lunges, stair step exercises and walking up and down several times to get your heart and blood pumping.  Who needs a gym?

With the TV on you can turn on music and dance until you workup a good sweat.  Practice your boxing moves in front of the TV.  Keep at this for 3-4 minutes; you will get a good workout.  Really punch out that TV star you just detest and your heart will thank you.

Take empty milk containers and fill them with water, use these as weights to do range of motion exercises in your living room.

Doing yard work and gardening requires a lot of bending and stretching exercise that can be very healthy.

There are lots of exercises you can do in the privacy of your home like push ups, crunches, lunges, sit ups, yoga and more.    A jump rope is inexpensive and good exercise. The only thing required to get going with these exercises is a mindset that you are determined and committed to exercise and not stop.
