P90x and Insanity are both popular exercise programs designed to be done at home. The Insanity fitness DVD program is newer than P90x, but each has a special exercise approach. Neither is better than the other. It just depends on what you prefer. P90x and Insanity are equal to each other in quality, but differ in strategy. Look at each program separately to determine which is better for you.
P90x is designed as an extensive 90-day program. Various exercise equipment is needed including dumbbells. The workout is set for a day of rest and six days of working at least an hour up to an hour and a half. This challenging weight loss program helps tone muscles as well. It focuses on every area of fitness. Each day varies featuring yoga one day, cardio another day and then other training options. Each month is a different phase. The resistance workout changes each month to keep your muscles working. Kick it with a cardio routine and balance it out with a stretch.
Shawn T's Insanity is designed as a 60-day core training program with two phases. No exercise equipment is used, but a mat would be helpful. This workout program involves cardio training with one phase lasting up to 45 minutes and another phase just under an hour and a half. It is an invigorating workout stressing each element of the routine more intensely as you constantly move throughout each workout.
Do you want really intense workouts with less phases or a program with a less intense approach and more phases? You have more time to define your muscles with P90X, but continued intensity use Insanity. The varied workout style in both programs helps not only keep you motivated, but works your full body. You determine what works best for you.
