How to Have A Rock Hard Core

As a fitness principle, core training recently has become very popular. What is core training and why is it important? Well the best analogy to use is building a house without a good foundation, what this means is your core which consist of your abs and back is the foundation in which your whole body is supported. Below I have listed several techniques on how you can have a great core.

1) Stabilizing your core, such as exercises like planks or bridges activate your transverse abdominus which acts like a girdle to stabilize your core and spine. Many reasons people have low back pain is that they don't have a transverse abdominus that is stabilizing their core.

2) Perform multi muscle exercises or exercises that require you to use many muscles at the same time; doing exercise that require you to use many muscles simultaneously force your core to stabilize your entire body. Good examples of multi muscle exercises are push ups and squats

3) Participate in exercises that require balance and stability. Anytime that your body needs to balance, your core automatically engages. A good way to engage your core [economyexercise.com/core-training.php] while doing common exercises is to do them while on one foot (eg. Standing shoulder press on one foot)

4) Strengthen your back, you can't have a great core if you only work the front. Doing exercises such as back extensions are great for working the lower back and provide balance for the entire core.

Always remember there are several pieces of equipment such as a Bosu ball and exercise balls are helpful to anyone who want to enhance their core training.
