How to lose belly fat the right way is the question we all want to know. With the many ab machines, diets, and ab exercises, it can sometimes get overwhelming as to the right way to lose belly fat. An overall system of exercising with interval training, healthy eating habits, and reducing stress is the right way to getting a flat belly.

Interval training is a way to increase our overall metabolism. The short burst activity of interval sets causes the muscles to go into an oxygen debt, where the muscle will produce lactic acid and other waste by-products. These by-products will need to be cleared and the muscle would need to be repaired.

This process causes an increase in metabolic activity, which burns more calories; as a result the body will require more energy to expend and will convert excess body fat on our belly to provide the necessary energy to our muscles. The muscles carry on this metabolic activity for several hours even after the exercise session is over.

Healthy eating habits are an additional way we can lose our belly fat. By eating a diet balanced in protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and fat, and avoiding sugary snacks, fat, fast foods and sodas, we are better able to control our intake and not consume too many calories. If too many calories are consumed and we are unable to expend them, they will be converted to fat and stored.

Eating 5-6 meals throughout the day will help us will help us provide energy for our daily activities as well as optimize our workouts to further burn calories and excess belly fat. Eating with greater frequency will enable us to maintain our energy as well as help stabilize our blood sugar.

Stress plays an important role in how our body stores fat. When our body experiences stress, it releases a hormone called Cortisol, which begins to store fat in our belly. The fat is stored in the belly to be used in case of emergency.

Relaxation and stress management techniques such as: deep breathing, meditation, yoga and tai chi have proven to be effective in decreasing stress levels.
