Get in Shape at Home With Intense Bodyweight Training For Fat Loss

Bodyweight training is steadily becoming an extremely popular choice for people who want to get in shape in the comfort of their own homes. Most people just stick to basicpushups, pullups, and bodyweight squats. But there's so much more you can do with bodyweight training!

In fact, it's actually not a good idea to stick to basic pushups, pullups, and bodyweight squats. There are a number of reasons for this. First of all, it's boring to continue to perform the same exercises and workouts over and over again. And if you're bored with your workout, then you're less likely to stick to it.

The Larger Threat: Overuse Injuries

Overuse injuries are caused by repetitive stress placed on muscle tissue over a period of time. It comes from performing the same movements over and over again. For example, I've experienced pain in my wrists and shoulders from doing lots of the same push up movement.

These aches and pains can range from the mild to the severe. The last thing you want to experience is overuse injuries, because you literally have to stop training or discontinue the exercise that's causing your pain. I don't think my bodyweight workouts would ever be complete without the pushup.

Pushing Past Plateaus with Unique Movements

Over the many years of bodyweight training, I've learned a lot of various bodyweight exercises and movements. The most unique bodyweight movements come from a system known as Circular Strength Training (CST), developed by Coach Scott Sonnon.

If you've been experiencing boring workouts, overuse injuries, or a plateau in your bodyweight training, then I urge you to check out CST bodyweight exercises. These movements are a combination of dance, gymnastics, and yoga exercises and go beyond typicalpushups, pullups, and bodyweight squats.

Don't "go backwards" with your Bodyweight Training

Human beings are creatures of habit. We get so used to the same exercises, that we're afraid of exploring past our comfort zones. Well, the key to continual progress is to keep looking outside the box. This is a lesson that I had to learn the hard way.

I've experienced a phase where I was so bored with my workouts that I stopped training altogether. I've also experienced a few overuse injuries and training plateaus. These incidents are a fact of regular fitness training. But for me the solution was always to switch up my training approach with unique bodyweight movements.
