Outcome: Set up your own yoga podcast
Audio and video podcasts are becoming very popular with yoga teachers. Podcasting is not for the faint hearted. It'll take a while to learn the whole process, but if you like the idea of spreading your voice around the world, it's well worth doing.
Steps:
Step 1: You'll need to record your voice on the computer. I use a free, open source software called Audacity. Google 'audacity' and download it. You can find lots of video tutorials on how to use it by going to youtube and searching 'audacity tutorials'.
Step 2: Decide what you want to record. To get ideas, visit apple.com/itunes apple.com/itunes and type in yoga. You can talk through a yoga posture, record yourself teaching a class or interview someone about something yogary (hmmm, is that a word?).
Step 3: Download Itunes onto your computer (if you don't already have it).
Step 4: Mind map what you want to record. For more on mindmapping go to youtube and search for mindmap tutorials.
Step 5: Record.
Step 6: Once you've recorded your podcast, you'll need to add it to to iTunes. This will allow people to download your podcast to their computer as an MP3 or let them play it on the web.
Step 7: Promote your recordings. Go to digg.com and digg it. Go to stumbleupon.com stumbleupon.com and stumble it. If you have a blog (e.g. wordpress), write a blog and include the audio.
Good luck!
